Add and manage passkeys

Passkeys let you securely sign in to DeployMonitor without typing your password. You can add more than one passkey to your account and remove a passkey when you no longer want to use it.

Before you begin

To add or manage passkeys, you need:

• A signed-in account with a verified email address.

• A browser and device that support passkeys.

• Your current password or an existing passkey when DeployMonitor asks you to confirm access to security settings.

If your browser does not support passkeys, the Security page displays Passkeys are not supported in this browser. You can continue to use your email address and password.

Add a passkey

1. Open Settings > Security.

2. Confirm with your password or an existing passkey if prompted.

3. Find Passkeys and select Add passkey.

4. Enter a recognizable Passkey name, such as MacBook Pro or iPhone. DeployMonitor may suggest a name based on your browser and device.

5. Select Register passkey.

6. Follow your browser or device prompt to finish registration.

After registration, the passkey appears in the list on the Security page. Each entry shows its name, when it was added, its last use when available, and an authenticator label when one can be identified.

Repeat these steps to add another passkey.

Sign in with a passkey

1. Go to Log in.

2. Select Sign in with a passkey.

3. Follow the browser or device prompt.

After successful verification, DeployMonitor signs you in and opens the Dashboard. The email-and-password form remains available when you need another sign-in method.

Confirm a sensitive action with a passkey

DeployMonitor may ask you to confirm your identity before opening sensitive settings. If you already have a passkey, select Confirm with passkey and follow the browser or device prompt instead of entering your password.

Review your passkeys

Open Settings > Security and find Passkeys. The list contains only passkeys registered to your account. Use the name, authenticator label, added time, and last-used time to identify each entry.

Passkey names cannot be edited from the Security page. To use a different name, remove the passkey and register it again.

Remove a passkey

1. Open Settings > Security.

2. Select the remove button beside the passkey.

3. Check the passkey name in the confirmation message.

4. Select Remove passkey.

The passkey is removed from your DeployMonitor account and can no longer be used to sign in. Removing one passkey does not remove your other passkeys.

Before removing your last usable passkey, make sure you can still sign in with your email address and password.

Troubleshooting

• The passkey controls are unavailable: use a browser and device that support passkeys, or sign in with your email address and password.

• You cancelled the browser or device prompt: no passkey is added or used. Start the action again when you are ready.

• Registration reports an error: reopen the add-passkey form and try again. Use a non-empty name no longer than 255 characters.

• Your passkey is unavailable at login: use the email-and-password form, then review or remove the passkey under Settings > Security.
