1. Who we are
DeployMonitor is a deployment-history and website-monitoring service based in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. In this policy, “DeployMonitor,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to DeployMonitor.
DeployMonitor's Privacy Officer is responsible for our privacy practices and can be reached at [email protected].
2. Scope
This policy applies to the DeployMonitor website, authenticated application, APIs, monitoring services, reports, and related system communications. It does not govern websites or services that customers choose to monitor, or third-party services that have their own privacy policies.
3. Information we collect
Account and profile information
When you create and manage an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, password in hashed form, time zone, optional profile image, email-verification status, and account-security information. If you enable SMS alerts, we also collect your phone number and its verification status. If you enable two-factor authentication, we store the information needed to provide that feature.
Project and service content
We process information that you or your team submit to the service, including project and environment names and URLs, deployment and project logs, maintenance details, report settings and snapshots, monitoring preferences, notification preferences, API-token names and permissions, and team membership or invitation details.
Monitoring information
When you configure a monitor, DeployMonitor requests the specified public HTTP or HTTPS endpoint and records operational results such as availability, response status, response time, redirects, expected-content results, TLS certificate details, and domain-registration or domain-health information.
Technical and usage information
We collect technical information created when you access or use the service, including IP address, browser or user-agent information, session activity, authentication and login activity, application logs, API activity, and request and security analytics processed through Cloudflare.
Communications
We process the content and delivery details of account verification, password reset, project invitation, operational alert, and other system communications. If you contact us for support or a privacy request, we collect the information you include in that communication.
4. How we use information
We use personal information for purposes that include:
- creating, authenticating, securing, and administering accounts;
- providing project collaboration, reports, APIs, monitoring, maintenance tracking, and notifications;
- sending transactional email and SMS messages that you request or enable;
- responding to support, privacy, and service-related communications;
- protecting the service, users, and third parties from fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security threats;
- diagnosing errors and improving the reliability, performance, and usability of DeployMonitor; and
- meeting legal obligations and enforcing our agreements.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
DeployMonitor uses first-party cookies required for authentication, session continuity, security, and related application functions. Cloudflare also processes network and request information to provide content delivery, traffic security, and network analytics services. DeployMonitor does not currently use advertising cookies.
You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies, but blocking cookies required by the application may prevent you from signing in or using authenticated features.
6. Service providers and disclosures
We disclose information to service providers only as reasonably needed for them to provide services to DeployMonitor, and may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, or in connection with a proposed or completed business transaction.
Amazon Web Services
Hosts the service and stores service data and backups. Amazon SES delivers transactional email, and AWS End User Messaging SMS delivers transactional SMS. AWS processes information stored by the service and the contact and message-delivery information needed for those communications.
Cloudflare
Provides content delivery, traffic security, and network analytics. Cloudflare processes IP addresses, browser and device information, and request metadata for those purposes.
7. Where information is processed
DeployMonitor's application and primary database are hosted on AWS in the Canada (Central) Region. Some service providers operate global infrastructure or may process network and communications data outside British Columbia or Canada. When personal information is processed in another jurisdiction, it may be subject to that jurisdiction's laws.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, to maintain appropriate business and security records, and to meet legal obligations. Specific retention periods depend on the type of information and why it is held.
You can delete your account from the profile settings after confirming your password. Deleting an account removes the active user record. Projects owned by that account and related project data are deleted by the application; records in projects shared with other users may remain with the deleted user's identifying relationship removed. Database backups may retain deleted information for a limited period until those backups are routinely rotated or securely destroyed.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, disclosure, or loss. These measures include access controls, hashed passwords, encryption for stored SMS phone numbers, and optional two-factor authentication. DeployMonitor enforces HTTPS for connections to the service and uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to require supported browsers to connect over HTTPS. The AWS-hosted storage used for persistent data and backups is encrypted at rest using AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS). No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
10. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access personal information under our control, understand how it has been used or disclosed, request correction of inaccurate information, or withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis for processing. Some requests may be limited by legal exceptions or by information we need to provide the service.
You can update profile information, notification preferences, and certain security settings in your account. You can remove a verified phone number or delete your account through profile settings. To make another privacy request or complaint, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
If we do not resolve your concern, you may have the right to contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or another privacy regulator with jurisdiction over your request.
11. Email and SMS communications
System communications include messages needed to operate your account and features you enable, such as verification messages, password resets, invitations, monitoring alerts, maintenance alerts, and log digests. You can manage available project-alert channels in notification settings. Removing your verified phone number disables SMS preferences associated with it.
If DeployMonitor introduces promotional messages, it will provide consent and unsubscribe choices as required by applicable law. Operational messages that are necessary to provide the service may continue while you maintain an account or use the relevant feature.
12. Children's privacy
DeployMonitor is intended for website owners, developers, agencies, and operations teams and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as DeployMonitor changes, including when paid eCommerce features are introduced. We will post the updated policy with a new effective date and provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
