Projects & Logs

Create and manage project logs

Create a log from the Logs page

Members with a Developer or Admin role can create logs.

  1. Open Logs.
  2. Select New log.
  3. Choose a project where you are a Developer or Admin.
  4. Choose a Change type.
  5. Enter a concise Title and optional Description.
  6. Set Occurred at to when the change actually happened.
  7. Select Create log.

You can also open a project and use Add log in Recent Logs or Options > Create Log. The project is selected automatically in that workflow.

Manual log creation is limited to 20 logs per minute and 300 logs per day for each user and project.

Choose a change type

Use the type that best communicates the result:

  • Added for a new feature, component, or capability.
  • Changed for an update that is not primarily a fix.
  • Deprecated for something still available but scheduled for removal.
  • Removed for functionality or content that was taken away.
  • Fixed for a corrected defect.
  • Security for a security patch or security-related change.

Edit a log

Open a log or use its actions menu and select Edit.

  • Admins can edit any log in the project.
  • Developers can edit only logs attributed to their own account.
  • Members cannot edit logs.

Admins editing from the main Logs page can move a log to another project they administer. Developers cannot move a log to another project.

Editing a log changes its project, type, title, description, or occurrence time but does not change its original source.

Delete a log

Only project Admins can delete logs.

Deleting a log permanently removes that changelog entry. Confirm the title in the deletion dialog before continuing.

For automated logs, see Create project logs with the API.
