Schedule and manage project maintenance

Use maintenance to tell teammates when planned work is scheduled or active and to suppress routine operational alerts during that work.

Permissions

Admins and Developers can schedule and manage maintenance. Members can view current notices, Activity entries, and maintenance details.

Schedule maintenance

  1. Open the project Overview.
  2. Select Actions > Maintenance, or use Activity > Add > Maintenance.
  3. If multiple environments exist, choose an Environment or No environment. Production is used automatically when it is the only active environment.
  4. Set the start time in your profile timezone.
  5. Optionally set a future end time and add details.
  6. Select Save maintenance.

A start time that has arrived makes the record Active; a future start makes it Scheduled. Without an end time, maintenance remains active until an Admin or Developer ends it. Only one scheduled or active window can exist per project.

Manage the current window

Use Manage maintenance on the notice. Scheduled maintenance can change its environment, start, end, and details or be cancelled. Active maintenance keeps its original start but can change its environment, end, and details or be ended immediately.

Completed and cancelled records cannot be changed. Cancelled records remain in Activity.

Review Activity and details

The Overview's Activity feed combines project logs and maintenance. Use its Filter control to show either type. Select a maintenance title to open the detail page, which shows status, environment, source, source URL, dates, creator, canceller, details, and ID.

API-created maintenance can remain untagged when its source URL does not match an active environment. The detail page warns about that condition and links to Environment settings.

Understand alerts

Maintenance Started and Maintenance Ended can use App, Email, or SMS. Configure project availability under Settings > Project Alerts and personal delivery under Settings > Alerts.

While maintenance is active, DeployMonitor suppresses monitor, certificate, Domain Health, and log-digest alerts. Monitoring checks and status updates continue. When primary Production maintenance ends, DeployMonitor sends Maintenance Ended and can then send Monitor Down if the primary monitor is still Down.
